All Earth Is Waiting

All earth is waiting to see the Promised One,
And open furrows await the seed of God.
All the world, bound and struggling,
Seeks true liberty, it cries out for justice
And searches for the truth.
Thus says the Prophet to those of Israel:
A virgin mother will bear Emanuel,
One whose Name is, God With Us.
Our Savior shall be through whom
Hope will blossom once more in our hearts.
Mountains and valleys will have to be made plain.
Open new highways for our God.
Who now comes closer for all to see.
Open the doorways wide as can be.
In lowly manger the Promised One appeared.
We feel his presence on earth today.
For Christ lives in us, and is with us now
And through eternity.
