Lyrics

Orientis partibus
Adventavit asinus
Pulcher et fortissimus
Sarcinis aptissimus
Cantate alleluia!

From the lands of Orient
Was the donkey heavenly sent
Strong and very fair was she
Bearing burdens happily
Sing Alleluia!

Following the distant star
Came the Wise Men from afar
And with joyful steps they sped
to that lowly manger bed.

In that heavenly country bright
Need they no created light
There to bend the knee before
Him whom heaven and earth adore.

As they offered gifts most rare
At that manger cold and bare
So may we our treasures bring
Christ, to thee, our Heavenly King.

Sing Alleluia.
