In terms of both editing and performance, York Early Music Press will bring the latest scholarship to its publications.
All editions include full prefatory information: editorial method and commentary as well as relevant performing information (scoring, original forces, pitch, context). Information on pronunciation will be provided by Dr Alison Wray (Cardiff University) . Composer biographies will be included. Translations will also be provided and may be used with appropriate acknowledgement.
The editions will be produced at original performance pitch, as far as this is understood at the time of the edition's publication. Some vocal music may also be available at other pitches to suit the available forces or the performing context.
