SATB and organ. A setting of Psalm 84:9-10. Lush and beautiful.
Notes: A short anthem that can be used at any time of the year or on Dedication festivals. Most of the anthem is chordal and singers should be careful to sing as one voice sounding the same words at the same time, particularly at the ends of words such as ‘behold’ and ‘look’. When the melody line has repeated notes such as bars 12-13, care should be taken to maintain the pitch.
Behold, O God our defender;
and look upon the face of thine anointed.
For one day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
