 Text by George McDonald.

Father in Heaven, I praise thy name,
I praise thy name with sounding words of song;
With gladsome words aloud proclaim,
That I to thee belong.

I see thy light, I feel thy wind;
The world is all a sign;
Each thing that wakes my heart and mind,
My life and hope is thine.

The living soul which I call me
Doth love and seek to know,
It is an utterance of thee,
Hidden in whom I grow.

Therefore I choose my highest part,
And turn my face to thee,
Therefore I stir my inmost heart,
To worship fervently.

Within my heart, speak, Lord, speak on,
My heart alive to keep,
Till the night comes, and, labor done,
In thee I fall asleep.
