Description

SATB. It's a beautiful piece. Orlando Gibbons had way with polyphony, even when he was contemplating his own abasement. A paraphrase of Psalm 3:1-2. No uplifting message here, but a perfect piece for Holy Week.

O Lord, how do my woes increase,
How many are my miseries,
my troubles rise and never cease.
All judge, thou wilt not hear my cries.
