Description

Tenor, Baritone, Bass, and Organ. From Mendelssohn's unfinished oratorio Christus. What a great piece for men's trio or men's chorus! Mendelssohn at his best. Can be used as a short anthem or even an introit. If you have a smaller choir, you might want to look here at the chorus that follows: There Shall A Star From Jacob Come Forth for SAB choir and organ. Text from Matthew 2:1-2.

Recit:

When Jesus, our Lord, was born in Bethlehem, in the land of Judaea,
Behold, from the East to the city of Jerusalem, there came wise men and said:

Trio:

Say, where is he, born the King of Judea?
For we have seen his star and are come to adore him.
