Description

Wood, like his teacher Villiers Stanford, was born in Ireland and moved to England, succeeding Stanford as professor of music in Cambridge University. He also studied with CHH Parry at the Royal College of Music, and was a teacher of both Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells. He is best known today for his extensive compositions for the Anglican Church service.
