Description

For SATB choir and organ. This is a rousing (yes, rousing!) Advent/Epiphany anthem using a paraphrase of Isaiah 62:1-3. A beautiful (and easy) soprano solo introduces the middle section, bookended by a driving 6/8 tune that your choir will really enjoy singing.

Lyrics

For Zion's sake I'll not keep silent,
for Jerusalem I will not rest,
until her vindication shines forth like the dawn,
like a burning torch, like the sun in the west.

And all the nations shall see your vindication,
and and the kings shall see your glory.
From the mouth of the Lord shall you be called,
in his Hand, a crown of beauty.

I will rejoice in the Lord my God,
my whole being shall ever exalt him!
His praise will spring up from all the lands,
like a garden that blossoms before him.
For Zion's sake I will not rest.
