Ernest Bullock

English composer and organist. He studied the organ with Edward Bairstow in Leeds, and at the University of Durham receiving Bachelor of Music in 1908 and Doctor of Music in 1914. He was organist of Westminster Abbey (1928 – 1941) and Director of the Royal College of Music (1952 – 1960). He was knighted by King George VI in 1951. His anthem Give us the wings of faith is a staple of cathedral and church music.
