Greene was an English late-Baroque composer and organist.  He was a boy chorister at St. Paul's, London, under Jeremiah Clarke, and later served as organist of St. Paul's.  He also succeeded William Croft as the organist of the Chapel Royal, and from 1730 was professor of music at Cambridge University.  His best-known work is the full anthem "Lord, let me know mine end."  (Read more - Wikipedia article.)
