Description

Farrant was a a choirmaster, organist, composer, playwright, and theatrical producer of Tudor England, noted for creating the famous Blackfriar's Theatre. Although not much is known of his life, it is known that he began his career as a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal under Edward VI and later served as Master of the Chapel Royal and Master of the Children and St. George's, Windsor. The texts of his plays are all lost, as is much of his music.
