Description

Bob Weaver comes by his interest in church music and composing naturally. His father was a Presbyterian minister, and both his parents played piano for church meetings. His two brothers (and Bob himself) have a long tradition of participating in sacred music-making. One brother, John, is a concert organist, composer, and retired organ teacher (Curtis and Juilliard). Bob and John attended a summer composition camp (now called the Walden School) when they were young. Bob and his wife Anne now live in Needham, MA, and they have participated in Lutheran church choirs in Amherst, MA, and now in Natick, MA.  He is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Computer Science at Mount Holyoke College and has hymn tunes published in Lutheran Forum and in CrossAccent (from the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians). Three of his anthems at SJMP use texts by his long-time collaborator William Allen Pasch (From All the Earth Send Up the SongHere Marked Not With Water Only, and We All Believe).
