Description

This lovely little baroque offering is for two treble voices, with optional baritone, keyboard, and two C instruments (opt. cello). A great opportunity to use that harpsichord! Only five and a half minutes long, it's perfect for a Christmas Eve communion, Christmas Eve pre-service music, or even a Lessons and Carols offering. Use with two soloists, two soloists and choir, three soloists ... you get the idea.

Lyrics

Joyful tidings I bring,
unto all creation,
Glad tidings bring
to all nations.
Alleluia.
For unto you now a Savior is born,
who is Christ the Lord,
in the City of David.
Alleluia.
This shall be a sign, that you shall find the baby
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
Alleluia.
Glory to God in the highest,
and peace to the earth,
and goodwill to all people.
Alleluia.
