Description

One of our favorites and a wonderful anthem! SATB, organ, 3 trumpets (in B-flat), handbells, and optional timpani. Grand and celebratory. Includes optional texts for Easter. Text from Handel, John Milton, and Isaiah. This one is breathtaking.

Lyrics

Let the bright Seraphim in burning row
their loud uplifted angel trumpets blow.

Ring out, ye crystal spheres,
Once bless our human ears,
And let your silver chime
Move in melodious time.
If ye have power to touch our senses so;
And let the base of heav'n's deep organ blow.

And with the cherubim and ninefold harmony
Heavenly host make consort of the angelic symphony.

And above Him stood the seraphim,
one came to the other and said:
Christ is risen, Hallelujah!
